Stay safe
How to meet up safely, avoid bad situations, and consume responsibly.
Safe meetups
- Meet in a busy, public, well-lit place during daylight — coffee shops and dispensary parking lots work well. Never meet at a private home or secluded spot with someone you don't know.
- Tell a friend where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you'll be back. Share your live location.
- Bring a friend. Two people are far less of a target than one.
- Don't carry more cash than the deal calls for, and don't flash valuables or large amounts of product.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, leave — a deal is never worth your safety.
- Never get into a stranger's vehicle. Stay near your own car or a clear exit.
- If something goes wrong, don't fight over product or money. Leave and call for help.
Consumption safety
- Start low and go slow, especially with edibles — effects can take 1–2 hours and last many hours.
- Never drive or operate machinery while impaired. Plan a ride or stay put.
- Keep cannabis, edibles, and concentrates away from children and pets — store locked and clearly labeled.
- Know your tolerance and your product's potency. Mixing with alcohol or other substances increases risk.
- If you feel too high: stay calm, hydrate, eat something, and rest in a safe place. It will pass.
- Avoid combustion-only habits when possible — vaporizing or edibles reduce smoke exposure to your lungs.
General wellbeing
- Keep emergency contacts and your phone charged when meeting anyone new.
- If you're under the legal age in your jurisdiction, wait — it protects your brain and your record.
- Be mindful of mental health: if cannabis increases anxiety or low mood, take a break and talk to someone.
Your safety comes first. These tips are general guidance, not a guarantee. Use good judgement and look out for your mates.
